My SEO Book.

I have spent the last four years of my life learning about search marketing with a special focus on search engine optimization and pay per click. I recently made the decision to put all this information in one location and offer it to the general public while I compile it into a "book". Actually, I am really writing a thesis, because my ultimate goal is to be a college professor and teach the various techniques of website marketing to students at a university. Therefore welcome to my SEO book. I would like to thank some people that have helped me along the way.

Starting first and foremost with the master Aaron Wall. Without Aarons SEOBOOK.COM website, and without his abundant free information available to the general public, I may not know a thing about SEO. Mostly likely because I probably would've never found a place to learn everything before deciding to move onto another area of technology.

Second I would like to thank Jeff Carpenter formerly the SEO manager at an Interactive Marketing Agency downtown San Diego California. While I didn't learn a whole lot from Jeff Carpenter about SEO, I did rethink my own knowledge from his constant and unrelenting criticisms. I did learn indirectly from a coworker of mine who worked underneath Jeff Carpenter named James Harrison.

I probably learned more about SEO with my conversations about the industry with James Harrison than anywhere else. We both worked with Jeff Carpenter at MEAdigital while PPC specialists. After I moved on James stayed on board approximately another year where worked at times under Jeff Carpenter and learned most importantly how to organize SEO efforts. During this time James and I would have nightly if not weekly meetings on his balcony overlooking the ocean down in North Pacific Beach California.

We would talk about everything search marketing to affiliate marketing. We would both talk about things that we had learned independently and debate about the best way to do things in a friendly manner. While I think I knew a lot about on page SEO when we meant, what I really learned from James was off page SEO. James is a master at link building for many reasons, but first and foremost I feel it is because of his incredible work ethic and desire to always do it a more efficient way and he has since become a master of all things SEO as you can see from his website SEOBYTHEHOUR.COM

And finally, Rand Fishkin. I always think of him as the white knight of SEO, although I like to defer to Aaron Wall’s opinion whenever there is a difference I can always trust that whatever Rand is doing is probably the safest white hat perspective out there. Also his list of Google Ranking Factors allows me to see the differing opinions of the masters myself, and decide who I would like to defer to when answering questions with my own clients.
